DJ’s band together-the Bumsquad spins for food

“No one should go hungry”

The  Bumsquad DJ’z THANKSforGIVING is holding a food drive on November 19, 2009 at Club 915 SW 2nd Ave, Portland, from 8pm to 2 am. The entrance fee is food or cash donations. The goal this years is to bring in at least 500 pounds of food and five hundred dollars to be donated to the local foodbank.

Bumsquad is an international group of DJ’s and music artists that have joined together to make positive contributions to their local communities.

DJ O.G. One David Jackson Jr., is one of our local participating DJ’s. He was raised in Watts California, worked his way up and out of the Watt’s area,  and presently is the official DJ for the Portland Trail Blazers.

The number of hungry in the US has hit a new high- “food insecurity,” which is not having enough food for a healthy, productive life style- now effects more than one in seven households.  Focus-on-hunger events like this will help to supplement the rapidly depleting stocks of food at our local food banks.
