Politically well connected Rodriguez-Salazar is now publicly declaring her candidacy for United States Congressional Representative for the 3rd District.  Congressman Baird officially announced that he will not seek re-election on December 9, 2009.

Rodriguez-Salazar, who soon will be moving with her family from Vancouver to Battle Ground, considers herself an advocate for the people.  She  has been active for over five years in LULAC, serving both as regional president and national vice-president of the organization. More recently she has been a vocal supporter of Tim Leavitt, newly elected mayor of Vancouver USA.

Being the mother of three children gives Rogriguez-Salazar the drive to choose "focus on the family" as her political platform.
